About Me
My Story
Rita Felts moved to the Florida Keys from Russia in 1998, and fell in love with the beautiful chain of islands right away. Once she saw the tropical surroundings, and beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the turquoise colors of the ocean, she knew this is where she wanted to spend the rest of her life.
Rita enjoys walking along the beach looking for shells with her two children, and takes inspiration for her shell artwork from the rich beautiful colors of the underwater world. After a long day at the office, she looks forward to using her imagination and letting her thoughts go free while feeling the smooth ridges of the shells in her hands.
The unique and wild colors of the shells and oceanic aroma sets her mind at ease, and helps her create designs, each as unique as the shells themselves. Rita’s innovative seashell work and mixed-media mosaics are enriched by her unique personal interpretations and style. Her unique and distinctive style of shell work has led to many commissions across United States and overseas.
Always finding some natural curiosity and inspiration in every seashell she picks up and collects, Rita has collected a massive amount of beautiful shells, corals and sea life.
